In today’s polarized political landscape, collaboration among artists, policy makers, lawyers, and activists builds understanding and inspires hope in the possibility of positive change. On Monday March 27th, the Broadway Advocacy Coalition and Columbia Law School, with the special support of the Center for Institutional and Social Change, brought arts activism to a national convening on immigration and sanctuary cities. Co-hosted by The Center for Popular Democracy and New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito , the event brought together municipal leaders from around the country who are working on the frontlines of these issues in order to share resources and strengthen existing policies.  Please visit a video of the performance here, beginning at 4:00.
